The Peace Of A Kingdom Made
I visited a kingdom last night
The queen dressed like common wealth
But upon her brow was a silver circlet
All lived in harmony
And non without a smile
The queen spoke words of wisdom
If we stepped off our horses and walked
If we traded in silk for cotton
If we spoke the truth and accepted it
If we listened to stories told
If we talked more than we made war
If we listened more than we talked
Then we will have peace
She told me how her house was made of mud
And all houses were made of mud
So none would sleep without a roof
She told m e how she dressed in cotton
And how all dressed in cotton
So none would be unclothed
She showed me a kingdom where all are equal
All land equal
All worked for each other
All loved their neighbor
And none wanted or hate
“How did you do it?” I asked
I stepped off my horse and walked
I traded silk for cotton
I spoke the truth and accepted
I talked more than I made war
I listened more than I talked
And now we have peace
Let me live here I asked
I dress in cotton
And live in a mud house
No my child she said
Your kingdoms’ peace will come
She sent me off
Back here
So I tell you this
Peace is within us to be made
And for each other
Thus for us
Only then will we have peace.
