Dreams
By Leticia Mongre
Dreams can be gold
Gold can be dreamy
We think we know
What we are missing
In the search for love
We abandoned the ships
And forgot behind
The children
Let us remember
What else we leaving
We can no longer say
It’s not ours to pay
This debt is criminal
And our eyes as well
Can be found guilty
When we look away
Not at all guilty
We have feasted on dreams
Building up fortresses
Burned every day
Burned every feeling
Now lines on the dirt
Can longer be said
It’s freedom
We are not aware
We are no longer dreaming
A dream is good
If there’s good in the dreamer
A dream can be bold
And so can be the dreamer
But if the dreamer is all
And we all are the dreamer
We can make it gold
We can make it worth living
Let us not forget
That is all of us
Or none
Let us be one
For once and for all
