The Shine of Life

As I gaze upon the Earth, a brittle sphere,
I see a future we must all admire.
A world where nature flourishes, where skies are pure,
And harmony triumphs, casting out all fear.

Together we must shape,
An embroidery of life, for all mankind.
Where forests prevail, oceans deep and kind,
And every creature’s future, well defined.

With hearts combined, minds alike with light,
We’ll bind energy, both day and night.
From sun and wind, from earth’s hug so tight,
We’ll power our world, with sustainable might.

Let’s plant new seeds of confidence, let kindness prosper,
And cherish every soul, dismissing gloom.
In unity we’ll stand, scattering every downfall,
And build a future, where all can survive.

About the Poet

A ninth-grader at Abu Dhabi Indian School, Al Muroor named Akash, who’s built more like a pocket rocket than a skyscraper. Yes, that’s me! I’m usually living in a book, unless it’s near exam time. Then, let’s just say I get a little misty-eyed. But hey, who doesn’t? Now, before you start picturing me hiding behind desks, let me assure you, what I lack in centimeters, I make up for in enthusiasm. I’m here to prove that big things can come in small packages… especially when fueled by badminton smashes, chess-ical strategies and a bottomless bag of books!” So, here’s the thing: vulnerability is strength. It shows you’re human, it shows you care, and it shows you’re willing to learn and grow. So, buckle up, because I’ve got some ideas, and they might be deserving to be heard!
