Call for Change

In the silent fading of Earth’s once radiant gleam,

Where ages ago, its brilliance was seen.

This hallowed ground housed myriad lives,

With mountains, rivers, nature thrived,

Unfolding its emerald blossoms divine.

Yet, alas, what I see now is slow decay

upon the sands, across oceans and terrain

Rivers they run dry, dying of thirst

And the lillies cry – their fate, a curse

Skies tainted with smoke, rivers gasping for air,

Plastic waste and oils, a planet in despair.

Cattles yearn to speak, cans choke their cry,

Fishes met demise, their silence a sigh.

The extremes are melting at alarming rates

Sea levels rising ,our lives at stake.

Nature cries in her destructive dances

Repent her kindness , devoid of chances.

“But what’s my impact? I’m only one,”

Seven billion asked, feeling undone.

Little by little we all must join hands

To bring about changes to save our land.

Teen’s cigarette wisps, bags of plastic by the bay,

A boy’s tossed bottle, after a gulp, lost its way.

Each type, they matter, in this complex tale,

Their actions paint the skies, make the rivers frail.

Our duty is clear, repay the earth’s grace,

Stay strong and fight the threats we face

Like little drops of water make a mighty ocean

Let us nurture the earth, protect it from erosion.

We are not alone in this enduring strive.

Each action, each step, weaves the thread of life.

The planet’s not ours, but entrusted to care

For generations to come, a wealthy share.
