Unphased
Immune, unphased, invulnerable.
Even if things seem to be despicable.
Strong, unbreakable, unshakeable.
Even when things are out of control.
Connected, in union, working together.
Helping each other, enhancing our power.
In trying times, looking after one another,
Not letting the lives around us wither.
Strength, courage, connections,
The things we gain from our interactions.
With people who help us in tough situations,
Connections which build a strong fortification.
And in these connections, we become invincible.
As one, we are standing tall, indestructible.
A structure that is observed to be reliable,
Something unity built, something that won’t crumble.
And as one, we all stand,
Fighting the issues, plaguing our land.
Whether it is in grass, snow, or sand,
In unity, we hold each other’s hand.
We are unphased, facing our challenges.
We are unphased, jumping through hurdles.
We are unphased, helping those with struggles.
We are unphased, no matter the battles.
About The Poet
Aron James P. Santiago is 18 years of age, proudly studying at The Philippine School, Dubai, UAE and a Grade 12 Senior High student.
His hobbies include playing video games, exploring literature, writing poems, and encouraging others. He aspires to be a songwriter, whether it is for his own music, or for someone else, along with his other dreams of becoming a game developer, an author, or possibly even make it into a professional gaming scene. He believes that doing good to others would return good to him as well, whether it is in a similar way or not.
His interest in poetry has brought him into the 10th Poetic Heart Event, which he saw as way for him to challenge his poetic skills.
