Invincible spirit : Connecting Humanity

Amid the darkness, that invincible spirit unites them

In the boundless doubts of humanity

Drowning all their vanity

O’ invincible spirit; thy power is infinite; never to fail

To some, it is broken

To some unspoken

But it is always close to them

O’ invincible spirit; thy power is immense; never to break

Beyond this questionable universe; like a synthetic truth

Bitter to some; Euphoric to others

Ubiquitous; here and there

O’ invincible spirit; thy power is dominating; never to be limited

Between the final lines of life and death

A mutual connection between all

O’ invincible spirit; thy power is united; consistently connecting humanity

About The Poet

Yumna Iqbal is a student of Year 10 studying in The Winchester School, Jebel Ali.

Yumna is very observant, responsible, and caring of others; she has a heart of pure gold. Naturally, her passions include helping people prosper in their lives by using her abilities and also to make them happy and content. So, to pursue these passions, she volunteers both virtually and in-person. She has recently started mentoring underprivileged Kenyan children for English and Science. She also volunteers regularly at a library where she encourages everyone to read by recommending books and write short book reviews. This experience has also allowed her to explore numerous poets and authors and has enhanced her literacy skills immensely. Another passion that she pursues actively is editing videos, and throughout the years, she has become more creative and has acquired advanced editing skills.

Her achievements include receiving several appreciation letters and also a Principal Commendation Award. She has also taken part in a whole lot of debate and elocution competitions. Her stories, poems, and drawings have also been published in the local newspaper, and of course, she has helped her sister endlessly in shortening her college essays.
