A hand that holds and never leaves – A Mother

The starry night we first saw together by the water

My little hands in your palms

Learning to take step by step, moving forward slowly

I hold those hands tight

As I cling on them for my life

Those moments I don’t recollect

Our foot prints embedded side by side in the sand

Are washed away by the shore

Which is growing even more

and I’ll keep on loving you

Never will I stop, till I’m no more

Now I run free

My steps more firm

My laugh as wide as her satisfied smile

Walking different lengths, taking unlike strides

But still near the same water.

My foot prints embedded in the sand

Are washing away by the shore

Which keeps on growing  more

and I’ll keep on loving you

Never will I stop, till I’m no more

Now my hair is flowing with the wind

Wrinkled hands I hold

Leading her with small and steady steps towards the shore

Those moments I now cherish

Our foot prints embedded side by side in the sand

Will get washed away by the shore

Growing even more

Never stopping till I’m no more

That castle we built near the water

Grail by grail, stone by stone

To see its growth

We are now near the shore

That hand that lead me then, I’m leading now

Never stopping , till I’m no more.
