Nizar Kamal Sartawi is a Palestinian poet and translator born in 1951, and living in Amman, Jordan. His poetry and translations have been anthologized and published in literary journals, magazines, newspapers, and literary websites, in different parts of the world. He has participated in numerous national and international poetry festivals, poetry readings, and literary events. His poetry has been translated into about a dozen languages.

Nizar has won a number of awards, notably – 

• Al-Noor prize for creativity – Al-Noor Center – 2012.
• Naji Naaman award for creativity – Naji Naaman foundation – 2018.
• Jerusalem Intellectuals Forum Honorary – Jerusalem Intellectuals – 2019
