Black Rose

I sat beneath the beautiful trees,

watching the two tree tops collide.

The leaves rustle, while the clouds hide.

It’s truly an amazing sight.

I wonder how nature can convince-

Convince us to choose different paths,

to build connections between people,

to put us to sleep as we count the stars.

But, I’ve been looking up at the trees for so long,

I didn’t know that the ground beneath cracked.

In a split second, I’d be away, I’d be gone.

I’d fall into an endless hole, I felt like I was stabbed.

Back when nights would last forever,

my mom told me “Just live with nature”.

And even though I was falling,

I could still hear the distant chatters.

Everyone is unique, every soul is different.

Some souls hate, while some do care.

Just like the black rose beside me,

that appeared out of nowhere.

I finally know what’s happening,

I finally realized what I should believe.

The black rose was a sign of hope.

Colors never mattered, what’s inside is what’s real.

I fell to the core of the Earth, I was lost, or was I?

Because I can still hear the birds and the bees,

I can somehow see the Sun and the Moon,

I know that hope has revived me in my dreams.
