A Journey Of Thousand Miles
Peace is blind in the eyes of my people,
Bringing swords, weapons, fire and spear,
To deepen my wounds of destruction and war
And awaken the dreadful dawn of hell.
Mankind, taking the most tragic leap
Into the starless midnight of racism and injustice,
That the fantasy of a bright daybreak of peace and love,
Can never turn into a reality.
Dispute and conflict, the only air we breathe
Inhaling pollution and exhaling agitation
Peace is a plant that can never survive,
If it isn’t planted in each one’s heart.
Walking towards the outskirts of the world
With a white bag of peace,
The journey of a thousand miles,
It must be taken one step at a time.

Leiganne brilliantly captures here how a single human effort to spread peace, step by step, can eventually lead to a journey of thousand miles. Like a single candle can light a thousand candles, a single heart with hope of peace can light up several other hearts .
Impression
Leiganne felt it was a huge honour to be a part of this and was very impressed with the scale and the platform to display talent. Also felt that it is a wonderful platform to bring out emotions and feelings on stage through poetry. If there were more organisations like this then it would really help to reach out to more people in the world which is increasingly becoming a dark place.
